Conference Leaders

Hannah McConnaughay's work in the Outreach Education and Training Department of the Interfaith Youth Core takes her to college campuses and conferences to promote religious pluralism and offer skills trainings. She has worked with interfaith leaders and service programs in cities around the world and at colleges, including Yale University, Berea College, and the University of Illinois. Hannah is developing a nationwide interfaith curriculum for youth in the Unitarian Universalist Association and is a former site coordinator of Inspired to Serve, the first federally funded interfaith service program. She holds a B.A. in Religious Studies and Economics from the University of Chicago and has worked in the fields of rape crisis, social work, and educational enrichment programming. Hannah is a Christian, committed to the call to work for justice and commune with all people that her faith has taught her.

Kristen Glass is a Director for Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, where she is responsible for providing leadership for the organization's work in facilitating the collaboration, cooperation, and coordination of ministry with both youth and young adults (18-30 year olds). This includes work with the 28 Colleges and Universities, and 8 seminaries of the ELCA as well as work with national and global ecumenical faith partners.  Kristen is a frequent keynote speaker and workshop leader on themes relating to youth and young adults, lifestyle, culture and faith formation.

Katy Resop is the Program Assistant for Youth and Young Adult Ministries in the ELCA’s Vocation and Education unit.  She is a 2008 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Katy is passionate about the voice of youth/young adults in the church—hers and others’ included!  She was a lifelong camper and three-time counselor at a Lutheran camp in northern Wisconsin, attended two Youth Gatherings, and spent her college years in campus ministry before crossing the state border for a new adventure.  Katy loves meeting and networking with people of all ages and backgrounds and invites them to “imagine themselves being who God created them to be!” in vocational exploration.

Jon Magnuson is Lutheran Campus Pastor at Northern Michigan University, Director, The Cedar Tree Institute. He has worked with American Indian Tribes and churches in the Pacific Northwest for 15 years around issues of Treaty Rights and the environment.  A former Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal, he’s written numerous articles on spirituality and the environment published in The Christian Century, Sojourners, and America Magazine. He is also cofounder of Earthkeepers, an interfaith initiative of ten faith traditions in Northern Michigan (247 congregations) that’s received special recognition from the USEPA and the Sierra Club.
