Heather Wallace.

We are thrilled you have found our site and have interest in the Youth in Mission program. My name is Heather Wallace and I am the Program Coordinator for the Youth in Mission Program. I joined the Youth in Mission Program in January of 2006. I grew up on a small farm in east TN. I first came to Chicago for an internship at The Lutheran Magazine. It was a great experience, so when my husband decided to come to LSTC for seminary I jumped at the chance to come back. I am a graduate of a good Lutheran school in Hickory, NC, Lenoir-Rhyne College. I previously worked at AFFIRM, the Southeastern synod's summer youth camp for 4 years and assisted with my home church's youth mission work throughout college. I love to travel. I've been to Haiti, Germany and all over the U.S. Besides working with youth and traveling I have a passion for writing about the church and its many ministries.

Hola! My name is Kristin Rice, and I am a second-year student here at LSTC. I came here for the Master of Arts program, but found I could not deny God calling me into ordained ministry, and so I am now in the process of entering the Master of Divinity program. Proud to be from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I graduated from Luther College in Iowa in 2005. I was very blessed to spent the majority of the following two years as a member of two Youth Encounter international teams. It was through my team community and the people we met throughout the U.S. and around the world where I have been able to recognize and accept (finally) my vocation within the church. I am looking forward to being a part of Youth in Mission this year. Being able to see a world and hear about life experiences different than our own help to shape who we can become and what our sense of a vocation may be. I am very excited to know you and hear about your experiences as you come visit us and work in our communities!
