What is it?
Serving Christ in the World is a three-week program for current high school sophomores and juniors. More than a weeks spread over the beginning and the end of the program will be in Chicago, one week will be in Mexico City and four days will be spent in Arizona. The purpose is to give the youth a mini-seminary experience with a focus on discussion, discovery, and application of how one can serve Christ in the world.
When is it?
The journey begins on June 13 and continues through July 4, 2009.
What is the cost?
The program covers housing, meals and travel expenses to Mexico City and Arizona. The only cost to you is your travel to and from Chicago, a $300 non-refundable fee (due after acceptance to the program), your passport, and spending money.
What if I cannot afford the program?
If the youth's family cannot afford the program please contact the home congregation about sponsoring the youth, then the synod, and then if still unable to cover the fee please contact the YIM office.
When are applications due?
The deadline for 2009 program is Feb. 18, 2009. Please contact YIM office if any application materials are going to be late.
